A look inside a writer's sketchbook

A lifelong fan of illustration, I began to dabble in some rough sketching about six months ago with zero aptitude and not even a spec of talent. Even a drawing a competent stick figure was a monumental challenge. Through self-training, practice, and watching lots of YouTube tutorials I have made some progress. While nobody will ever mistake me for Boris Vallejo or Julie Bell, keeping a sketchbook of drawings, storyboards, and rough paintings (very rough) had allowed me to help in the visualization of characters and certain scenes as I write my fiction.

Sketch of Caitlin Star

Painting in progress of Caitlin Star in her combat uniform from "Caitlin Star and the Guardian of Forever"

Sketch of Gunner Star from "Caitlin Star" book one.

Color sketch of a scene from the upcoming "Caitlin Star and the Rise of the Barbarians" due for release April 30th 2015.

Okay these two below has nothing to do with my books. I just dig Charli XCX.
